Good Morning

I have a few minutes to post this morning before the grandkids have everyone up and running. It seems we have been in the car most of the week so far. The trip out to Kansas took about 19 hours. The grandkids got really bored driving that far, so we kept stopping along the way to let them run off a little energy. Yesterday, we drove to Kansas City to see my nephew off to Italy, his new duty station. He will be there for the next few years. It was rough watching him leave, but at least this isn't like the last time we sent him off to Iraq.

After his plane left, we went to one of the Casinos to try our luck. Don't even ask! It was my first trip ever to a casino. It was a lot of fun, but not something I would want to do on a regular basis. There was this one little man sitting playing one of the video machines that would play one of the Village People songs when you won. It was so much fun to watch this old fella dancing in his chair when he won. He played the same machine the whole time we were there, and was having a blast with it.

Well the GKs are getting up, so I guess I had better get a move on or they will leave me behind.

How about a little freebie?

I'm in a good mood today. My vacation starts tomorrow. The packing is all done, except last minute stuff like toothbrush. I am dreading the drive (about 17 hours) but it will be so worth it. Three of my grandchildren and their mom are going with me, so there should be lots of photo ops!

Anyway, I mentioned a freebie. Here is a quick page, from a kit I designed. I call it Caribbean Sunset.

I hope you enjoy it. Oh, and click on the title to this post to take you to where you can download it. : )
Edited to say:
As an anonymous poster pointed out in a comment, you need a password (don't know what's up with that as I did not assign one to it). But the password is orange, the same as the other freebie quick page I offered before.

Toodles for now.

WOOO HOOOOO Another layout finished

I am a haphazard scrapper, to say the least. When I decide I want to scrap a layout, it's kind of like playing Russian Roulette only with photos. I look through a gazillion photos until one of them kind of jumps out at me. Then, I have to hunt through my stash of goodies to find a kit that will go with the photo. With the new Raspberry Jam kit from Raspberry Road Designs, http://raspberryroaddesigns.blogspot.com/ I have the option of doing everyday layouts, Christmas layouts (because the colors work marvelously for that), spring layouts or whatever.

I used the kit for this photo of my son and his fiancee taken at her high school graduation two years ago. It was taken in May, so everything was green and fresh. This kit worked perfectly for it. What do you think?

Any and all comments are welcome. Be sure to go by Susan's store and pick up this versatile kit, you won't be sorry.

Did you have a good Monday?

Monday's always seem to get a bum rap. Nobody likes Mondays. I guess because they signal the end of the weekend, time to hit the road back to work.

I must be a strange duck then, because I love Mondays. They signal a new week to conquer new things. The weekend is over, fun and games time is at an end, and it's time to get creative. I have about a week before I leave for vacation. I have so many things started that I need to get finished before I leave. I have a new kit in the works for the store: http://www.treasuredscrapdesigns.com/ Lots of new style elements in this kit. I need to finish up a couple things for it and get the preview ready. That's tomorrow's assignment. I worked all day on elements for the papers I designed last week. I'm really excited about this kit. I will put up a freebie bonus later in the week that was made from the kit.

Have a good night. See you tomorrow.

The surprise I promised

As I promised earlier, I have a surprise for you today. It is my latest brag book using Raspberry Road Designs "Mystical Sky." Here is the preview:

You can pick it up on the Raspberry Road CT Blog http://raspberryroaddesignsct.blogspot.com/ . If you download it, please be sure to tell Susan thank you!

Toodles!

My how time flies. . .

I've been busier than a flea in a pack of dogs lately. It seems there just aren't enough hours in a day. That is still no excuse for me to forget my only sister's birthday yesterday. I didn't even think about it until some where around midnight last night and there was noooooo way I was going to call her at that time. I did eventually call her though, and she had a pretty good birthday even without me. I'm so sorry, Sis! I love you .

I hope your weekend is going good. Did you do anything fun? Did you get a little "me" time for yourself? I hope so. Life is too short to not allow yourself some "me" time once in a while. I allowed myself some "me" time yesterday. I went out in the woods and picked some wild blackberries. Yep, you guessed it, I made myself a blackberry cobbler, just a small one though.

There's no one home but me this week. (Yay, no fighting with my son over MY computer!) He went camping with his fiancee's family. They go about this time every year and for the last three years, he has gone with them.

Good grief, it's after midnight again. Guess it's time for this old granny to hit the sack. I hope you have a great night or day, depending on what time zone you're in. Come back later today and I hope to have a nice little surprise for you up on the blog.

Nightie, Night.

In addition, on the CT blog I have posted another QP using this kit. I hope you will pop over, collect the freebies and pick up this georgous kit! Have a magical fantasy wedding planned? This kit would be great for that album. Have a little princess you need to scrap for? This kit would be perfect for that too. Oh, and let's not leave out the little princes, in our lives. There are frogs, dragonflies, butterflies, and other little creatures that would be perfect for lttle Prince Charming.

This is my latest brag book. It is available at Raspberry Road. If you click on the title of this post, it will take you to Susan's site where you can pick it up. Yep, it's a freebie. Enjoy.

Sorry, I forgot to post credits

I am so sorry, I forgot to post credits on the freebie quick page yesterday, but with good reason... I created all papers and elements used. DUH! I forgot to give myself credit. LOL! I just don't want anyone to think I was one to not give credit where credit is due. And, I always do like Mom said, "Remember to say thank you." : )

Past my bedtime, TTYL!

A Freebie for you

What better way to start off a new week than with a freebie for you? This was one of the very first Quick Pages I made. It's a simple layout, but I'm sure you can find a way to dress it up and make it your own. I hope you like it. Password is orange, simply because I couldn't think of anything else at the time...LOL.

Have a great evening! Hug your loved ones and hold them close.

What a BEE-utiful day!

I hope your day is as filled with sunshine as this little corner of the planet. What is all the hooplah? I've got some great news to share with you. Yesterday, as I was "blurfing" (what my friend Sandie, from Bearpatch Crafts, calls blog surfing) I happened to visit Susan Darter's blog, Raspberry Road Designs http://raspberryroaddesigns.blogspot.com/search/label/Freebies . Susan is a fantastic designer, and as I have said in one of my earlier posts, a great inspiration to me. And she has great freebies too.

Anywho . . . on with the story. I went to Susan's blog and found the most adorable freebie kit, called "Blissful Morning." I just had to download that jewel and start playing with it. It took about an hour, and I had three brag book quick pages done. I just had to share with Susan what I had done with her kit . . .they turned out so cute! So, I e-mailed the files to her. To my surprise, she asked me to make three more pages so she could offer them on her blog as a freebie. WOW, was I ever on cloud nine! I made five more pages, for a total of eight and e-mailed the files to Susan. She has them posted on her blog now as a freebie. Here is what they look like , the picture does not do them justice though, they look much better on Susan's site:

But, there is more to the story. After I had finished the files and sent them to Susan, she e-mailed me again. This time it was to ask if I would be interested in designing brag books and quick pages using her kits.

WHOA! Are you kidding me? I would love the opportunity to design for her. So, of course, I said yes. LOL

That's about all of the news I have for now, but what a great day I have had. I hope your day was just as good!

Toodles.

I hope you had a fantastic weekend!

I had a marvelous weekend. The cookout was great and the commaraderie with the family was most enjoyable! Dropped by my brothers on the way home to watch the fireworks. Man were those things noisy. Of course, I took lots of pictures, so I have plenty to keep me busy for a while (or at least until the next holiday when I'll take some more).

Here's a little layout I worked up yesterday, using the kit that Boo of Booland Designs posted for the July Color Challenge at SAS (Stone Accent Studios). http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/forum/index.php Lovely colors, Boo! What do you think? Is it too busy. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Well, I guess I'll go make a few more things to finish off the kit I'm working on for the store.

Oh, wait, I don't think I told you. I have been accepted as a Design Team member at Treasured Scrap Designs! http://www.treasuredscrapdesigns.com/ Stop by if you get a chance. I don't have anything in the store just yet. I hope to have something ready this week.

Thanks for dropping by, see you next time.

And my award nominations are. . . .

It was tough trying to choose, but here are my nominations:

http://baubles-n-scraps.blogspot.com/2008/06/freebie-fad-garden-gala-qp2-dc-birthday.html Amie does some amazing work and her blog has lots of great freebies. Take time to stop by her place and say hello, you won't be sorry!

http://cufreebiesonly.blogspot.com/ Laura's site lists the current CU (commercial use) kits/pieces available on the internet. It is an invaluable listing of the current items for the would be designer in all of us.

http://raspberryroaddesigns.blogspot.com/ Susan has been a great inspiration to me as a designer. She has some fantastic freebies too!

http://scrap-stuff-with-psp.blogspot.com/ Shawna's blog is an invaluable tool for those of us that use PSP. She has some great tutorials! Drop by to see her and check it out. Tell her Artsygranny says hello!

Ok, I think that's seven. It was a tough choice, but these ladies all deserve it. Let's give them all a round of applause! (Clap, clap, clap!)

Oh, MY! I have been nominated for an award!

Can you believe it?
Andrea, of http://thepaperpurse.blogspot.com/ nominated me for the award. She does some amazing paper crafts! Check out her blog, you won't be disappointed that you dropped by to see her. Thank you so much, Andrea. (I may need your help in collecting it, remember I'm new to all this blogging stuff, and not really computer literate in all the background workings.)

The rules of the award are:

1. The winner can put the logo on their blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs you've nominated.

Gee whiz, 7 blogs to nominate? I'll have to think on this for a bit. My brain is kind of foggy right now from all the firework smoke from the fourth. There are so many great blogs out there. Let me think on it overnight and I'll be back in the early afternoon to post my choices.

Thanks again, Andrea, you made my day!

Happy July 4th, Everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying yourselves today. We have a family cookout this evening, so I have been busy getting ready for that. I want to wish you and yours a safe and happy day. Don't forget to take lots of pictures, because when you get older like me (ha,ha,ha), you will need them to jumpstart your memory sometime.

Toodles for now!

I think I have it figured out now

It's been an interesting day, to say the least. I am not familiar with the inner workings of web design or blogging, so this has been an exciting
experience. But, it was fun at the same time. I enjoy learning new things and love a challenge!
Speaking of challenges, I took the opportunity to enter the June Color Challenge at Stone Accent Studios. The photo above is a preview of the kit. As soon as I figure out how to do it, I will be offering this as a welcome freebie here on my blog, so check back soon. This old granny is tired now, so I think it's time for a little nap. See you soon!

Under Construction

Welcome to my little home on the web.

This is a new experience for me, so bear with me while I get my feet wet. I'll be posting lots of new stuff in a day or so, so check back again soon.

Thank you for stopping by.
